Five weeks in, Chivas de Guadalajara has yet to earn their first victory in Mexico's Liga MX. Although everything pointed in favor of Mexico's Red-and-White, Chivas earned their fourth draw of the season hosting San Luis on Sunday afternoon in Estadio Omnilife in Guadalajara.

Chivas maintained the majority of posession in the first half, with several scoring opportunities. In the 23rd minute, international forward Marco Fabian put Chivas in the lead off a header by Miguel Sabah. Midweek, Fabian went all 90 minutes and scored via penalty in the Mexican National Team's 1-1 draw with Denmark in Arizona.

San Luis came back in the second half determined to earn a draw. In the 55th minute of the match, an error on behalf of Chivas' defense allowed Mauro Matos to score the equalizer for San Luis. Guadalajara fought until the final minutes of the match, with two clear opportunities at goal in the second half.

With the point earned, Chivas sit in the 14th spot in the general standings with four points. Up next, Chivas will face Monterrey on Saturday, Feb. 9 in Estadio Tecnologico at 5 pm PT. Monterrey will face Cancun's Atlante hoping to earn their third victory of the season (record of 2-1-1 in Clausura 2013) on Sunday evening.

It was a hard-fought match as Chivas USA’s sister club, Chivas de Guadalajara came to a 1-1 draw with Cruz Azul on Sunday evening in Estadio Omnilife in their third match of the 2013 Clausura tournament in Liga MX. The visiting team finished the match with nine players on the pitch, after two Cruz Azul players received a second yellow card, leading to their ejections. With the draw, Chivas sits in the 13th spot in the general standings and has yet to win their first match of the season.

Guadalajara opened up the match maintaining most of the possession and having the better chances at goal, but it was Cruz Azul’s Javier Orozco who notched the first goal of the match in the 31st minute. Just before halftime, Chivas forward Rafael Marquez Lugo dropped a ball with his chest with his back to goal and did a half turn to notch the equalizing goal in the 40th minute. The draw marked yet another unsuccessful year for Cruz Azul in Guadalajara, since the team has not defeated Chivas in Guadalajara since 2009.

The Mexican Goats will now prepare for their next match visiting Monarcas Morelia, who took a 2-1 victory in their last match. Morelia currently sits in ninth place in the standings with a 1-1-1 record.
