It was a day full of smiles as Chivas USA’s supporter group the Union Ultras held their first ‘Dia de los Reyes’ (Three Kings Day) Toy Giveaway on Sunday afternoon in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary in Sun Valley.
Before the event, CDChivasUSA.com spoke with Ultras representatives, who estimated that they had around toys for about 100+ kids. But on Friday and Saturday night, the Ultras began gathering more toys and gifts for the event, including donations from Chivas USA. On the big day, over 400 children were given a gift to celebrate the holiday.
“It was nice to see so many children smiling and happy,” said Ultras representative Julio Ramos. Also in attendance, the infamous ChivaFighter helped the Ultras put those smiles on children’s’ faces as he interacted with the kids and their families. Click here to view a gallery of the event.

Dan Kennedy might’ve not won MLS Goalkeeper of the Year and we think we just found out the most legit reason:
Clearly MLS voting committee or Simon Cowell or whomever is in charge of voting GK of the year was distracted by Dan Kennedy's chiseled jaw.

This past weekend, Chivas USA culminated its 5th year of Chivas at the Park Soccer Clinics. As a result of the program, 23,000 boys and girls in the Los Angeles area received affordable soccer training and learned how to live healthier lifestyles. Chivas USA is looking forward to continuing to work with the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks and the Mayor’s Office next year. Thanks to everyone that participated and made these clinics so successful!
Major League Soccer and MLS W.O.R.K.S. have pledged to not tolerate discrimination, bias or harassment of any kind. Don't cross the line! MLS W.O.R.K.S. will make a donation to help stop discrimination for every pledge made during the 2012 season. Chivas USA takes the pledge... do you?
Yet another exciting edition of the BarraClásico was disputed last night ahead of this Sunday’s SuperClásico match. For those that don’t know, the BarraClásico is a trio of games between Chivas USA and LA Galaxy Front Office staff and Supporter Groups.
Chivas USA’s Front Office took yet ANOTHER win last night, this time with a 4-3 final score. It was the Marketing Department’s time to shine as Promotions Coordinator and Front Office top goal scorer Kevin Ramirez scored his two goals (adding to the two he scored in previous editions); Street Team member Jesus also scored a pair for the Front Office adding to his two goals he counted with.
Meanwhile, Black Army 1850 was looking for their first victory of the year against the LA Riot Squad. The match was looking like a 1-1 draw (BA goal scored by Angel Mendoza), but the Galactic supporters took the 2-1 victory in the last minutes.
Last match of the day was between Union Ultras and the Angel City Brigade. The Ultras had lost their first match 1-0, but took a 3-1 victory in the second. The third match ended in a 1-1 draw, but due to goal aggregate that BOTH teams agreed on, the Ultras took the Supporters Trophy.
Joining the Supporters, Chivas USA Forward and Captain Alejandro Moreno as well as Cesar Romero were in attendance last night. On behalf of Chivas USA, we’d like to thank everyone who came out to support our club. Now it’s on to getting the win the win this Sunday! Arriba las Chivas!
