As you might’ve already noticed, we really push our fans to vote for our very own Dan Kennedy for MLS Save of the Week. And the upcoming week (we hope) will be no different. So, we’re just giving you a head’s up. Tonight’s result was difficult; yet another last minute goal that sinked the team to yet another loss. But as always, it could’ve been worse if it weren’t for Kennedy’s heroics.

How about this save that Kennedy had in the 42nd minute of the match when the Crew’s Arrieta headed a cross by Gaven? Kennedy was in the right place at the right time to make that save.

So if Dan’s save would be nominated for MLS Save of the Week, would you vote for it? Or do you have another candidate?

If you haven’t seen it, take a look:

As the FIFA dates came to a close last night, Chivas USA players Ante Jazic and Oswaldo Minda closed their international duties for this month.

Defender Ante Jazic was once again in the starting line-up for the Canadian National Team in last night's tough 2-0 loss to Panama in Panama City. Previous to this match, the Reds maintained the lead of Group C in CONCACAF's, but after the loss, the team has fallen to third place with seven points, same as the Honduran National Team (goal differential). The Canadians will look to regain control of Group C when they face Cuba on Friday, October 12.

Meanwhile, midfielder Oswaldo Minda played all 90 minutes in Ecuador's 1-1 draw with Uruguay last night in Montevideo. With the draw, Ecuador maintained itself in third place in CONMEBOL's World Cup Qualifying standings. The first four teams qualify automatically to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Up next for Ecuador, is a match against sixth place Chile on October 12 in Quito, Ecuador.

Both Jazic and Minda are enroute to Los Angeles and will be eligible for MLS action for this Saturday's Chivas USA home match vs San Jose Earthquakes in The Home Depot Center.

Just like last week, and the weeks before that, Chivas USA's Goalkeeper Dan Kennedy is nominated for MLS Save of the Week!

In the 55th minute of last Saturday's match at Century Link Field against Seattle Sounders, Steve Zakuani had a run with the ball after receiving a pass from Fredy Montero. Zakuani then attempted to take a shot on goal but Dan was able to take the ball out for a Seattle throw-in.

Although Dan has been nominated in various occasions for Save of the Week, he has yet to earn his first MLS Save of the Week honor. If you'd like to see Dan win the honor this week, don't hesitate in clicking here and casting your vote for Dan.

After opening the scoreboard in last Saturday's Chivas USA game at Seattle, midfielder Nick LaBrocca is nominated for MLS' Goal of the Week. The New Jersey native scored his second goal of the season in the eighth minute of that match off a pass by newcomer Shalrie Joseph (his first assist with the Goats). Aside from his nomination to the league-wide honor, LaBrocca was also selected CDChivasUSA.com's Man of the Match.

It was a great international date yesterday as both Chivas USA's Ante Jazic and Oswaldo Minda took a victory with their respective national teams.

Jazic played all 90 minutes in the Canadian National Team's 1-0 victory over Panama in BMO Field. With the win, the Reds have moved up in Group C from second to first place with seven points. Although the Canadians took the victory, Panama sits just one point away; Jazic and Canada will have to take yet another victory in Panama City next Tuesday if they wish to remain up top.

Meanwhile, midfielder Oswaldo Minda was on bench for the Ecuadorian National Team's 1-0 victory over Bolivia in Quito, Ecuador. With the win, Ecuador moves up to third place in the standings with 12 points (the top three teams automatically earn a berth in the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup). Up next for La Tri is an away match against Uruguay in Montevideo this Tuesday, September 11. The Uruguayans suffered a brutal 4-0 defeat last night to Colombia; the Ecuadorans will try to take advantage of the team's standing and earn yet another three points.

Just like we told you yesterday, Shalrie Joseph appeared in training with a brace on his right elbow. Today, he just had his elbow wrapped during practice and trained throughout the entire session. So, what was the cause of the brace? We spoke to Shalrie and he said it was caused by an awkward fall in last Sunday’s match at San Jose. Luckily, the Red-and-White midfielder says he is feeling a lot better and should be good to play this Saturday at Seattle.

It was a muggy and rainy training session for Chivas USA as they prepare for this Saturday’s match at Seattle Sounders at 1pm. Midfielder Ryan Smith returned to full action today as he participated in the team’s mini-scrimmage. We spotted Shalrie Joseph with a brace around his right elbow; staff informed us that he had minor pain on his elbow and that he will still be eligible for Saturday’s game.

Here’s a little taste of what went on in practice today:

Dan Kennedy might’ve missed out in last week’s MLS Save of the Week, but he’s back again. Although the result wasn’t in favor of the Goats this last Sunday at Buck Shaw Stadium, Kennedy’s saves avoided a much larger goals against number.

Kennedy’s save nominated for this week’s MLS Save of the Week is for one against Marvin Chavez. In the 68th minute of the match, Honduran Marvin Chavez took a shot on goal off a cross; Kennedy, with his cat-like reflexes, was able to push the ball out for a corner kick.

It’s that time of the year again; Fundación Chivas de Corazon’s 6th Annual Golf Tournament is getting closer! The big event this year will take place on October 22 in Rancho Golf Course in Los Angeles, the top public Golf Course in the nation.
